FAQ

Are you always right ?

No, I am not. On good days my accuracy might be 100%, while on “bad” days it may fall to 70%. I would say that the usual range of exactitude may fall somewhere in the middle. Astrologers are, in the end, humans too. We make errors, have biases, get tired, etc. Of course, a rigorous cultivation of the mind and a deep understanding of the practice can greatly mitigate the risk of erring but missteps can still occur. Also, while it may appear too “bizarre” for some people, on rare occasions the chart seems to conceal information and refuse to talk much, as if some things were better left unsaid at the moment…

What kinds of questions can I ask ?

I will rather answer by stating the questions that should not be asked or, at least, that should be presented a bit differently.

Besides the types of requests that I directly don’t answer which are specified in the deontological code of the consultation page (third parties charts, death and health questions), there are certain ways of formulating a request that I would consider too broad for me to answer. For example : “What will happen to me during the next 5 years ?”, “Can you tell me about how my career will unfold for the next 10 years”, etc.

While it is theoretically possible to answer those questions, the sheer amount of variables to take into account makes it incredibly impractical. As such, the maximum time frame I usually analyse thoroughly will be of one year. Of course, depending on the situation at hand, I may probably look more ahead of that.

Also, questions that imply me telling you what to do will inevitably be reframed. Example : “What should career should I chose ?”, “Should I leave (or be with) that person”, etc. For all those kind of question, I can only delineate the chart to clarify the situation, but you are the one in charge of your life.

One very important thing to note is that I do not consider/believe that we have one specific life path or that we may deviate from it. From my perspective, at any moment we are enacting our birth chart, yet, somehow free, to enact it how we “want”. Fate and Free-Will are two sides of the same coin for me (for more on that, you can find a series of articles that I wrote on this subject here).

Neither do I consider that the “best” things in life will be experienced by everyone. Some people will never find love, some people will live in very harsh conditions, etc. Not that those are fated, but simply that life, from a very basic perspective, is not fair. Looking around us, in different places, societies, blatantly show us how cruel the world can be. That being said, I do strongly believe (and have experienced) that Astrology can help us in improving our circumstances.

Lastly, please add the necessary context to your question. For example, if you ask for your love life, it would make sense to, at least, specify, if you are currently dating someone or if you just go out of a relationship etc. Another common example, would be when asking about your career. In that case, it would make sense to indicate what is your current job situation, if you are searching for a job in a specific field, etc.

Why do some of your predictions are specific to the day, while others are just tied to a month or a moment of the year ?

On a technical level, when it comes to predictions, know that if your birth chart is off, for example, by 1 minute it can imply with some predictive techniques a change of a month. Using multiple techniques allows to reduce the time range of when an event might occur. But in some cases, in order to take into consideration the possibility that the birth time may be a bit inaccurate, some concessions on the prediction timing have to be made.

Also, not everything that occurs in one’s life happens instantaneously. There could be times when a situation will slowly build up across several weeks or months before it becomes fully tangible and observable.

Why are your answers sometimes very long and other times quite succinct ?

Each consultation is different. Sometimes a situation may require a highly detailed reading to explain all of its intricacies, other times the situation is plain or clear and doesn’t need extra wording.  As stated in the consultation page, I will always favor conciseness and relevance over quantity.

I will not add fluff to a reading just so the consultant get a false impression of value. I think that part of why Astrology is still is not taken as seriously as it should is because of the constant need of some practitioners to make their clients feel good and/or keep them hanging on a thread of overly fantasised possible outcomes.

Also, it is not because someone is eager that changes or impactful events happen that it will so. Is it not common that sometimes various years can pass without anything out of the ordinary or outside the normal routine takes place ?

Why do you call yourself Penitent ? Why don’t you use your real name ?

There are various reasons as of why I’ve chosen to not use my real name for my Astrology practice, and even if I do not wish to reveal them all, here are two of them :

  • I do feel a sense of duty and devotion towards Astrology.  My name or persona should remain absent in front of the magnificence of the Cosmos. In the end, I am just a translator of the Stars and what’s important is the message not the messenger. Even though a lot of work went into acquiring those skills and knowledge, I still own a vast part of it to all the Astrologers that participated in deciphering the Skies across several millennia. I am nothing but another cog in the Wheel (at most). Astrology practice doesn’t belong to me but I belong to it. I am willing to sacrifice my identity to follow the voice of Urania.
  • Similarly, observing the astrological community it does seem that parasocial dynamics have taken an exceeding importance and I don’t think it is something that should be as it potentially lessens the overall quality of today’s practice.
