FAQ

  • Are you always right ?

No, I am not. On good days my accuracy might be 100%, while on “bad” days it may fall to 70%. I would say that the usual range of exactitude may fall somewhere in the middle. Astrologers are, in the end, humans too. We make errors, have biases, etc. Of course, a rigorous cultivation of the mind and a deep understanding of the practice can greatly mitigate the risk of erring but missteps can still occur. Also, while it may appear too “bizarre” for some people, on rare occasions the chart seems to conceal information and refuse to talk much, as if some things were better left unsaid at the moment…

  • Why do some of your predictions are specific to the day, while others are just tied to a month or a moment of the year ?

On a technical level, when it comes to predictions, know that if your birth chart is off, for example, by 1 minute it can imply with some predictive techniques a change of a month. Using multiple techniques allows to reduce the time range of when an event might occur. But in some cases, in order to take into consideration the possibility that the birth time may be a bit inaccurate, some concessions on the prediction timing have to be made.

Also, not everything that happens in one’s life happens instantaneously. There could be times when a situation will slowly build up across several weeks or months before it becomes fully tangible and observable.

  • Why should I add context to my question ? Can’t you know everything about me ?

Theoretically, yes. In practice it is really not an efficient way of conducting a consultation.

Navigating a birth chart is akin to walking through a multi-dimensional maze. Each turn opens to a multitude of possibilities and routes.

Yes, the Astrologer could go back in time and retrace your life up until now in order to assess what your current situation might be. While this is usually done in a reduced manner in order to have a better grasp from where the person is coming from, having specific clues on your current situation is highly valuable and anchors the practitioner in how your birth chart concretely manifested in your life which will help to know how it will manifest in the future.

This assessment can also be done by casting a horary chart which will unveil where the consultant stands at the moment, what are his/her expectations for the reading, why he/she is asking that question, etc.

But all this additional research is in fact not necessary if you directly describe the context.

Let’s say that you wish to ask about your love life. It would make sense to at least specify if you are currently dating someone or just got out of a relationship, for example. Or if you wish to ask about your career, it would make sense to indicate what is your current job situation, if you just got laid off, if you are searching for a job in a specific field, etc.

Withholding information regarding what you wish to know would be similar to going to the hairdresser after having purposely made knots in your hair. Can the hairdresser untangle it, yes, is it efficient that part of his/her service is dedicated to it, no.

Of course, you are still free to do it that way. I perfectly understand that some people may prefer to not reveal any kind of personal detail. There is also the phenomenon of wanting to be “amazed” by the capacity of a stranger to know things about you that he/she shouldn’t. For some individuals this somehow helps them validate that the Astrologer is the “real deal”.

To resume : just know that not clarifying the context from which the question arise adds unnecessary fog. Sometimes, it can also lengthen the response delay. An astrological service is there to help you and just adding a few details to your request can help the Astrologer solely focus on what’s really important for you.

You have more chance of getting a precise answer if you ask a precise question.

  • What kind of questions can I ask ?

I will rather answer by stating the questions that should not be asked or, at least, that should be presented a bit differently.

Besides the types of requests that I directly don’t answer which are specified in the deontological code of the consultation page (third parties charts, death and health questions), there are certain ways of formulating a request that I would consider too broad for me to answer. For example : “What will happen to me during the next 5 years ?”, “Can you tell me about how my career will unfold for the next 10 years”, etc.

While it is theoretically possible to answer those questions, the sheer amount of variables to take into account makes it incredibly impractical. As such, the maximum time frame I usually analyse thoroughly will be of one year. Of course, depending on the situation at hand, I may probably look more ahead of that.

  • I have sent a request for a consultation but I haven’t got any response for X amount of time, why is that ?

I understand the frustration that some people may feel when not receiving a rapid response or when not knowing whether their request will be soon taken into account or not. Unfortunately, I am still trying to find a way to address this potential issue.

As I don’t limit my work on a specific chart to a predetermined amount of time, it can sometimes take longer than expected. I take as much time as needed for the request.

Also realise that estimating when I will get to the next queued requests involves taking into account potential urgent consultations that may arrive, responding to eventual follow-up questions, etc. At some point in my practice trying to calculate when each client would get a response became unmanageable and unnecessarily disruptive.

If you really do not wish to wait, please consider the “urgent” option described in the consultation page. While it is evidently pricier, it is still on the low end spectrum of what astrology services usually cost. My aim is to make Astrology accessible to the most amount of striving souls possible (within limits of course), but this comes at a cost and this cost is time.

Despite all that, you can be assure that each and every request will receive a response. Thank you for your understanding.

  • I’ve seen that you sometimes answer questions for free on such or such platform and/or that you post articles in which you analyse birth charts, why can’t you analyse mine for free too ?

I sometimes do free readings (albeit limited and thus not comparable to what my paid service entails), for two main reasons :
    • Because I feel a sense of duty towards Astrology which tremendously helped me find my way.
    • Because even though my rates are fairly low in comparison to other practitioners, I do understand that it might still be too much for certain people. Yet, if I were to accept doing readings for free for each person that contacts me directly for that, I would certainly not be able to pay any bill. Every work should be paid, giving for free when we can doesn’t erase that fact.

In regards to my articles it is a different side of my work. It is my way of contributing to the astrological community as a whole and its advancement as well as presenting my researches and discoveries.

  • Why are your answers sometimes very long and other times quite succinct ? Why is the price the same then ?

Each consultation is different. Sometimes a situation may require a highly detailed reading to explain all of its intricacies, other times the situation is plain or clear and doesn’t need extra wording.  As stated in the consultation page, I will always favor conciseness and relevance over quantity.

I will not add fluff to a reading just so the consultant get a false impression of value. I think that part of why Astrology is still is not taken as seriously as it should is because of the constant need of some practitioners to make their clients feel good and/or keep them hanging on a thread of overly fantasised possible outcomes.

Also, it is not because someone is eager that changes or impactful events happen that it will so. Is it not common that sometimes various years can pass without anything out of the ordinary or outside the normal routine takes place ?

In regards of the price, the time spent analysing the chart is also to consider. It would become rather absurd to set a price per characters written. Be assure that if I really have nothing of value to bring to you from my analysis of your chart, I will not make you pay for the consultation.

  • Why do you call yourself Penitent ? Why don’t you use your real name ?

There are various reasons as of why I’ve chosen to not use my real name for my Astrology practice, and even if I do not wish to reveal them all, here are two of them :
    • As already mentioned, I do feel a sense of duty and devotion towards Astrology.  My name or persona should remain absent in front of the magnificence of the Cosmos. In the end, I am just a translator of the Stars and what’s important is the message not the messenger. Even though a lot of work went into acquiring those skills and knowledge, I still own a vast part of it to all the Astrologers that participated in deciphering the Skies across several millennia. I am nothing but another cog in the Wheel (at most). Astrology practice doesn’t belong to me but I belong to it. I am willing to sacrifice my identity to follow the voice of Urania.
    • Similarly, observing the astrological community it does seem that parasocial dynamics have taken an exceeding importance and I don’t think it is something that should be as it potentially lessen the overall quality of today’s practice.
